The first scene of the movie justly sets the tone and brings authenticity to the characters. Tyler is a brooding young man who suffers in the wake of a family tragedy, while Ally has an overbearing father and a fierce sense of passion after witnessing a fatal event. Tyler and Ally's romance take place against the backdrop of their ever present fears, anxieties and circumstances. The context that each character brings colors their lives and the love that they have for each other; as Tyler struggles to recooperate and regain his familial bonds and Ally tries to face her fears and break her own ground. However it is a final catastrophic event that teaches them how to persevere and preserve after facing the fire. 7/10
